Looking Back and Ahead

After a year of tremendous uncertainty and problems in the financial system, we would like to present the following facts for your consideration:
  • The First did not request, receive or require any government assistance or bailouts.
  • During this extremely difficult period, our institution remained an active lender providing all types of credit in the communities we serve.
  • There were no layoffs or job losses at The First, as our employees continue to be extremely busy focusing on our clients' needs.
  • Despite a demanding year, our institution remained consistently profitable.
As we start a new year, and a new decade, you will be bombarded by financial institutions' claims that they are different, changed, sophisticated, focused and driven. We prefer to remain the same. Since 1864, The First National Bank has been independent, responsible and stable.

We look forward to 2010 and beyond with a sense of realistic optimism!
