Summer 2008

Fun & Games

Stuck indoors on a rainy day? Why not build a rain gauge to see how much rain has fallen? All you need is a glass jar with straight sides (like an empty pickle jar), a ruler and some tape.

Tape the ruler to the jar, making sure the bottom of the ruler lines up with the bottom of the jar. Set your rain gauge outside in an area away from trees, and watch the rain collect! Write down your measurements from each storm in a weather journal.

Just like rain collects quickly in a jar, your money adds up quickly when you deposit it in your savings account.
