Maybe you've seen the TV show "America's
Got Talent." People sing, dance, rock climb
and do all sorts of cool things. Do you have
a talent that you'd like to share? Maybe
you're great at double dutch jump rope or
you can sing like a bird. There's a great way
to showcase your talents – throw a neighborhood
talent show. How do you do that? Use
this checklist:
Check with your parents to see if it's OK.
Ask other kids in your neighborhood if
they'd like to participate.
Make fliers using crayons, markers and
colored pencils. Hang them up around the
neighborhood to advertise your show.
Practice, practice, practice.
Decorate the area where your show will
be. If it's in your basement, hang streamers
and balloons to make it more fun.
Show off your talent on the day of the show!
Make sure you only try talents that are
safe. Check with your parents
before trying something
new. And don't forget to
have fun!
If you have a talent that requires
saving for a new musical instrument
or tap shoes, be sure to save your
extra pennies in a savings account.
