Did you know that 50 years ago, the price of a ticket to Disneyland cost only $1?* Even though that 1955 ticket didn’t cover any of the eight rides, it did get you through the gate. Today, the cost of a ticket for one day is $56!**
Why the Higher Price Tag?
Money doesn’t seem to go as far as it used to – just ask your mom and dad. That’s because it costs more to make things today than it did when your parents were kids. People are also paid more to do their jobs today. So, building more rides at Disneyland and paying employees to keep the park going costs way more than it did years ago.
And, that’s true for almost everything (see the chart below).
